The 'OG' Furry Casting fly

These tails are an extension from our long standing swimbait range. They feature a 4 section articulation with a tapered profile design. They come in at roughly 35cm long and are paired with an irukandji in line chin weight. They come as standard with 1 oz but can be up or downsized as needed.

Total weight casting weight (with 1oz chin weight) is only 50-60gms. Combine this with minimal surface entry noise and  a great natural action these are a tried and tested product with results on the board.

Furry HD Jig Fly's

This version of the jig fly has been used successfully by cod anglers since 2021. I can't really seem to find earlier evidence of fly jigs in Australia and although bucktail jigs have been used in  saltwater for centuries this creation has been a staple for a few select cod fisho's for quite some time. These are a pure blend of synthetics and natural materials to create a profile and action that cod love. There are other versions of these out there now, but don't get these confused with largely synthetic options avialable.

These current listings are the HD range, tied on the ever reliable Irukandji iron claw 10/0 jig head in a 1oz base weight combined with a Gamakatsu SL12s rear stinger hook - What I would call the 'elephant gun' of the new fly jig world

Pressured fish? Sitting higher in the water column or in the shallows? quick hold my beer --> The furry glide bait is built exactly fo this situation' a level weighted articulated casting fly tied across weighted sections to get an even sink profile. This results in a great glide action on the fast retrieve and pause or a great slow retrieve option as well with plenty of natural action. Coming to a cod's mouth near you soon..

FURRY SWIMBAITS

The swimbait range consists of a timber swimbait head and a series of articulated feather and fur segments that taper down to give a large baitfish profile whilst using a mix of bucktail and synthetics to push water. The sink rate for each swimbait is adjustable through a front chin weight attachment point; which works in unison with the  tow point location to create a nice subtle head wobble that translates down through the tail.

These things are big yet subtle: An approach that is designed to tempt the curiosity of those big fish that have already seen thousands of commercial lures

Stats: roughly 35-40cm, 4 articulated segments,

Dry weight (with timber head): 60gms

wet weight (casting weight): 80gms

FURRY PADDLERS

The paddler range was inspired to look like a possum or large rat swimming across the surface. Basically, something big enough to tempt those lake or river monsters to chase a large calorie meal in winter/spring or get a reaction bite on those warm summer evenings

These lures are a big profile, usually coming in at around 35-45cm with 2-3  articulated segments and a large tail which gives them their marsupial action on the water. Let's face it, these are natural furs and other materials being used to imitate a creature surface bait  so what could possibly go wrong?

The great thing about these guys is that compared to a timber lure of the same size, they are much lighter and you can cast them all day.

FURRY RIVER RATS

In response to the recent mouse plagues sweeping across eastern Australia we felt like a realistic mouse/rat profile lure creation was on the cards and so the Furry River Rat was born. Roughly 15cm-20cm long and 2 articulated segments, bucktail to create the body profile, saddle hackle to imitate the extremities and the characteristic wiggle tail  makes it a no brainer for rivers and impoundments alike.

Yowie Swimbaits

The Yowie swimbait was designed after the slow water game changer (SGWC) Developed by Chris Adams. Whilst they do not have foam attached the shanks are weighted weighted to create a keel effect, but since we aren't confined to throwing these on a fly rod using weight is not an issue.

The name stems from the 'Yowie' brush material sourced from Beast brushes. The swimming action of these is well worth a watch ;)
